Study Courses in Ireland
There are 4 courses available to study with Tuina Therapy Ireland at present. All of the courses we run are accredited via the CMA (Complimentary Medical Association).
Level 1 - Practitioner Certification Course: 200 hours (120 Clinical, 80 Theory). This course focuses on the techniques and applications of Tuina and teaches routines for general health care maintenance.
Course Fee €1850. (Applicants must have prior Anatomy & Physiology trainining to apply - contact us for more details).
Level 2 - Advanced Diploma Course: 200 hours (60 Clinical, 60 Case Studies, 80 Theory). This diploma level focuses on the specific treatment of internal disease based on the Traditional Chinese Medicine theory. Course Fee €2150. (NB* This course is a pre-requisite for our Medical Acupuncture training).
Level 3 - Medical Acupuncture Licentiate : 600 hours training (150 hours Clinical, 150 hours Theory , 150 hours Clinical, 150 Hours Practical applications). This Licentiate covers the requirements necessary to practise Acupuncture from a Traditional Chinese Medicine approach including diagnostics and needling potocols. Course Fee €3650. (Level 1 & Level 2 Tuina must be completed first)
Tuina Reflexology - This is a CPD course and requires Level 1 training as a pre-requisite. This course is 24 hours, and teaches the principles of Tuina based foot massage for treating internal diseases as practised in China. Course Fee €450

Study Tours to China
The next Study Tour for 2011 will be to Hangzhou, the beautiful west lake region of the Zhejiang Province. The cost of the study tour will include your flight, training and accomodation fees. Transfers to accomodation and airport my be extra, but unlikely to cost much. Visas and vaccinations will be your
responsibility.

The Second Affiliated Hospital to Zheijiang College of TCM - China.
The Hospital was founded in May 1952 and is one of the earliest hospitals of its kind in East China. It has become a comprehensive TCM hospital providing medical treatments, scientific research, education and preventative healthcare. Annually the hospital has eight thousand outpatients and ten thousand inpatients for treatment.Annually it has eight thousand outpatients and ten thousand inpatients, containing 500 beds. It has a team of language interpreters to complement the lectures and clinical tutors.
The Study Tour
This is an intensive practical course on the use of Chinese Massage, Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs in clinical practice and takes place in the
Second Affiliated Hospital to Zhejiang College of TCM in Hang Zhou, China. It is specially designed for graduate and post graduate students.The aim of the course is to improve the skills in clinical practice and experience treatment from practising Chinese Doctors. It is suitable for
students of TCM as well as the established practitioners who want to improve their skills in medical practice, such as diagnosis, differentiation, and
treatment of disease. Delegates will be able to practice treatments independently and confidently on completion of the course.
Clinical Practice:
Delegates will be divided into groups of three, and experienced doctors will supervise each group. There are plenty of opportunities to improve clinical skills (for example, the diagnosis, differentiation and treatment of disease). Interpreters will be provided for each group if necessary.
Lectures:
Lectures are given in the training centre by leading specialists in different subjects. Interpreters will be provided for non-English speaking lectures.

Clinical experience of digestive system
Ba gua and abdominal needling techniques
Special lectures can be arranged to suit your needs.
The Fee includes
An economy air return ticket from London to Shang Hai or Hangzhou
Shared double-room accommodation from arrival to end of the course (20 nights).
Clinical practice, tuition and visits (interpreters will be provided if necessary).
Transport to clinical practice and visits.
Sightseeing excursions on Saturdays and Sundays.
Not included
Meals (average cost €8.00 to €15.00 per day).
Travel arrangements and expenses after the course.
Travel insurance, vaccination and visa.
Accommodation
Two people will share a double room in a student dormitory on hospital grounds. The rooms are twin-bedded, all with en-suite
facilities.
Meals are not included, which gives delegates an opportunity to eat out and sample the wide variety of delicious Chinese cuisine (there are many small restaurants nearby that supply delicious food at very reasonable prices).
The City of Hang Zhou
Many Chinese people visit Hangzhou for tourism as it is one of the most beautiful cities positioned on the Great Lake. The Hospital
is situated in the centre of the town and within walking distance of the beautiful West Lake. Misty hilltops and traditional Pagoda's line your view
across the water and Tai Chi is practiced every morning along the waterfront which your welcomed to join in.
You are spoiled for choice when it comes to food with a huge variety of Chinese cuisine on offer at very reasonable prices. There are western coffee shops, and restaurant if you prefer and lots of nightlife to tire you out at the end of the day. And when you need to be refreshed there are hundreds of 'An Mo' and 'Reflexology' shops to take away the tension and put new life back into the body.

There is a maximum of 10 students per study tour and each student must be able to obtain a visa before visiting China.
