Richard Whitfield - (Roscommon Area)
Richard has been training in Tai Chi for 11 years and teaching for 4, he started training by learning Yang style Tai Chi along with sword and fan forms. Richard is one of only two people in Ireland qualified to teach Dr Lam’s Tai
Chi  for Arthritis program. In his Tai Chi classes Richard likes to teach Qigong as he finds that this
compliments the Tai Chi, and is great for people who do not have the space to
practice Tai Chi at home. After graduating from Tuina Therapy Ireland he set up a Tuina clinic in Ballaghaderreen Co. Roscommon, where he works on both his Tai Chi students and members of the public. Richard also enjoys practicing Traditional Japanese Martial Arts, and runs classes for both adults and children from the local area.

Richard spends his time promoting Tuina, Tai Chi,Qigong and Traditional Japanese Martial Arts, as he feels people should be made aware of the many health benefits gained from practicing these arts. He gives talks to groups, and attends health fairs around the country, in the hope that people will gain as much from these arts as he has. Visit Richards website http://www.taichiforarthritisireland.com/joomla/.

Belfast Practitioner

Picture
Fiona Jennings (Lisburn Road)
Fiona's interest in Chinese medicine started with studies in the Chinese exercise systems of Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong, which she has practised for over 15 years. In addition Fiona is a registered instructor with the British Council of Chinese Martial Arts (BCCMA). Fiona includes Qi Gong exercise in the advice given to her patients, no matter what the condition, as she has found this to help sustain the effects of Tuina and Acupuncture.
Fiona Says, "Naturopathy is a system of healthcare which encourages and promotes the body’s natural ability to heal itself. As a naturopath I aim to identify the underlying cause of the imbalance in the body and use a range of therapies to treat these in the whole person and not just the symptoms. Naturopathy may include advice on diet, exercise, and supplements for example, as well as Chinese massage, acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, cupping, or moxabustion."

Wexford Practitioner
                                Eoin Murphy (Wexford)

Eoin Murphy is an Acupuncturist and Tuina practitioner in Wexford, Ireland. Eoin has a Diploma in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine)which he attained in Cork while studying at IITCM (now renamed as the College of Oriental Medicine). At IITCM Eoin studied Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine and Tuina and he is member of the ACI (Acupuncture Council of Ireland). He is currently pursuing advanced
training in Tuina with Anthony Monteith at Tuina Therapy Ireland.Eoin is also a practitioner of Tai Chi and Qi Gong and it was this training that originally sparked his interest in Chinese Medicine. Eoin
Says,"Without the Tuina I've been learning since last May/June I may have helped this man to
some degree but I believe that that help would have been a lot slower and may have been more maintenance than anything. I'm convinced that the training I'm receiving now is not only teaching me great tuina but is also instilling a confidence and conviction in the treatments I'm capable of delivering that was missing from my previous studies, and is making me a far better practitioner than I could have achieved on my own in the last year. Thanks Anthony - Looking forward to more of the same....no pressure eh!"
